Two or Three column themes are all the rage at the moment, a big chunk (if not all) WordPress theme designers tend to release themes that have 2 or 3 column, however there are themes out there that are so simple and barebone with only 1 column, of course the idea behind a 1 column theme is to give more focus to a blog’s content, or maybe even use it for a photoblog.
Here’s a list of clutter free 1 column themes:
SweetHeart
Sweetheart is a theme for all you sweethearts, without being overly sweet. A single column displays your content front and center, but worry not, there is a sidebar — you just need to create the page for it (there is a special ’sidebar-page’ template included).
Sweetheart is WordPress widget friendly, which means you can manage your sidebar from your WordPress admin panel. If the plugin isn’t installed or enabled, the theme will use the default sidebar. Of course, if you don’t creat the sidebar page, this becomes moot.

Olive Green is a 1 column Wordpress theme. Lightweight theme for personal use.

Foliage Mod
Foliage Mod is a dark theme compared to most other 1 column theme who prefer to go with white as their main color.

The Hobbit
The Hobbit is an elegant theme by Kaushal Sheth, i’m guessing the inspiration came from the Lord Of The Rings movie, in any case with some minor tweaking this theme would be perfect for a photoblog or personal diary type blog.

Summer Breeze
Summer Breeze is a one column Wordpress theme. Its lightweight , simple and colourfu almost as if its feel like summer. Ideal design for bloggers who have a lot of content, another cool theme by Kaushal Sheth.

Ambiru 1.0
This is one of the earliest 1 column theme around, i can remember seeing it a from a couple of years back, the design still stands the test of time in my opinion.

White, Fresh and Smooth. A Wordpress single column design.The author has also provided a 2 column version of this theme.

Braintied
The Braintied theme shows only the post titles on the home page, no sidebar, no widget, no archive and no categories, Created by the popular Small Potato a.k.a WPdesigner.

As the name suggest, a simple clean and bright theme with some cool icons.

fastr is a one column theme for WP 2.x which loads fast. Featuring pure speed and Valid XHTML and CSS. Theme by Julian Klewes.

WuCoco – One Column is a one-column layout originally based on Wuhan. It has a darker background pallette and integrates navigation into the header image.

I am using a tweaked version of this cool TniMod Theme over at Flickrville, too bad the blog of this theme’s author has been shutdown.

Linux Force is a dark theme, some people have commented that the theme colors are not compatible with each other, but hey..nothing a quick edit can’t fix!.

recently so many widget are important to be installed on our blog. so i don’t think so whether one column is enough. even two i’ll make it as three.
btw, i’ll try to port some of those one column wp-theme into blogger platform.

Hm, not one of the demo links i tried worked for me – the only one that led anywhere went to a porn site on blogger – any ideas why?
the ones that go to wordpress.org lead to a generic page and searches lead to nothing…
they look good, though!

These are some great designs. I used one of these already on a site, and might use another. I’ve seen WuCoCo used on a few sites in the past – that is one of my favorite theme here.
