Welcome to this blog’s very first interview section, from time to time I’ll find some interesting bloggers to interview and post it here.
I’m delighted that the first interview that’s posted here is of Jelena.
Jelena is a friend of mine that i met at Sitepoint forums, she is PHP guru and also a Community Team Advisor at Sitepoint.
1. Where are you from and your working as..?
I am from Novi Sad/Serbia and I’m working as project manager and programmer for a local web development company.
2. Your blog morning caffeine is powered by Wordpress, why did you choose WP?
Few months before I decided to start blogging, I tried few of the open-source solutions for blogs including: Nucleus, Textpattern, MovableType and Wordpress. I actually did like Textpattern a lot, but the logic of Wordpress and simplicity for usage got me, so I decided to just go with it.
3. ..and what’s with the name Morning Caffeine?
Well, I like morning and I like coffee. Especially, morning coffee, and I like my coffee with caffeine
4. I see that you’ve contributed a plugin to the WP community (ask me plugin), tell me more..
Well, the idea wasn’t mine. My friend Sara actually got idea for this plugin and she wrote the initial version which she used on her blog. After I started to blog, I bugged her to give me the plugin, but the plugin wasn’t ready for publishing, so I offered my help to make it available for all Wordpress bloggers, so instead of few predicted hours of work, we end up with 30-40, but finally published it on January, 1st. Lately, we have been quite busy to work on it, but hopefully that will change in the near future. We have plenty of ideas for more plugins, but that is a secret for now
5. Some features that you would like to see added to WP in the future…?
I would like to see Wordpress to work with multiple blogs for sure and better support for keywords and meta tags would be nice, but pretty much everything can be accomplished using plugins or writing new ones.
6. Name 5 plugins that you absolutely must have..
Ask me plugin, of course ![]()
Akismet or Spam Karma
if you are a programmer I would say iG:Syntax Hiliter, Google Sitemap generator, Recent Comments plugin can be handy, WP notable is also a practical one.. Wait, you said five?
7. Ok..now name me at least 5 bloggers that use Wordpress…
Sara Smith (www.ilovecode.com)
Josh Catone (www.mockriot.com)
Dan Grossman (www.dangrossman.info)
ArrayStudio Blog (www.arraystudio.com/as-workshop)
Sitepoint (www.sitepoint.com/blogs/)
A big thank you to Jelena, you can read her blog at Morning Caffeine
