A few days ago John revealed that his income for March 2007 from his blog alone was a Grand Total of $8,545.25 and the month before that he made $7,011.05.

I had a chance to do an email interview with him lately and here’s the outcome of it:

1.There’s buzz, reviews and more about you, who exactly is the real John
Chow?

I am someone who is truly enjoying life because I’m doing exactly what I
want to do and have the means to do it. I’m a bit of joker. I don’t take
things too seriously and pretty much nothing surprises me. I’m married,
living in Vancouver and I’m also a father.

2.Your the owner of The TechZone and TTZ Media Network but you only
started your blog in December 2005, did you ever imagined your blog
would take off and be as succesful as it is right now?

No, my goals for the blog wasn’t to turn it into a high traffic site.
However, as the blog grew the focus changed a bit.

3.Why did you start a blog in the first place?

I wanted to get back to the number one spot on Google for “John Chow.”

4.Out of the many blog publishing platforms out there..why choose Wordpress?

It was the easiest and most popular. Plus there were tons of plugins
available.

5.What keeps you motivated to blog and on average how long does it
take you to post a single entry?

The readers are the driving force that keeps me blogging. A post take
anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour and half. I generally do them all in one
sitting and use the Wordpresss Timestamp control the time the go live.

6.Name at least 5 of your favourite plugins for Wordpress

I listed 16 of them here:
http://www.johnchow.com/my-16-best-wordpress-plugins/ My top five would be
Akismet, Show Top Commentator, Brian’s Threaded Comments, Sidebar Widget and
AdSense Deluxe.

7.It’s not just “The Miscellaneous Ramblings of a Dot Com Mogul”
anymore but it’s more towards “Make Money Online”, why the change?

It’s still the miscellaneous rambling. The make money online was a title
change to target that specific key phase. I rank number two on it now.

8.What does John Chow do in his spare time?

Eat at fancy restaurants, spend time with family, start rock fights and kill
pandas.

9.Your advice to bloggers out there that are just starting and are
interested in making money with their blogs.

Have fun at this. If you’re not having fun with your blog then you’re doing
it for the wrong reasons.

A big thank you to John for taking some time off his busy money making schedule for this interview.

**Interviews:

Basically my selection of bloggers to interview mainly boils down to what powers their blog, if they are using Wordpress than odds are they will be interviewed one day or another, I’m always on the lookout for bloggers to interview so if your a Wordpress user please join my community and chances are you might be next on the interview list.
