How to save bandwidth for your blogs?

One of the things I really hate Web Site Hosting is the limited bandwidth. There were times in the past on my hosting accounts are suspended  just because my site uses more bandwidth and server space that was shared of course. So I did a little research on this particular issue, and I found some very good ways to save my bandwidth and space on my blogs. So I’ll share some of the forms here, which will be useful for many.

Using images hosting sites:
Photos and images are the things that occupy a large amount of bandwidth and space on your server. Especially if your blog is focused on technology or if it’s just a photo blog with lots of image files. Most times they end in the use of image hosting sites such as Fray.us. This saves me a lot of bandwidth in two of my photo blogs I have.

Caching and Super Cache plugins:
Using plugins like wp-cache and wp-super cache may actually save their bandwidth in a big way. plugins create a temporary html pages of their blogs to be served to users. Using this plugin will not increase your speed also will make your blog less intensive blog servers.Using Amazon S3:
If you have not heard of this before. Amazon offers a great amount of space on your server for a very little. Using Amazon S3 to host your files and serving them through their blog will save a lot of space and bandwidth. It also has a wordpress plugin that will integrate your blog with amazons3 server. This plugin will save all your files directly to Amazon’s servers to do their job much easier. To learn more about this a try Google amazons3.

Use YouTube and video sites for videos:
Hosting your videos on your own server will consume a large amount of space on your server. The use of social networking sites like YouTube can be a great solution for this problem. Good thing about these social video sites that give you an option to embed the video on their sites. You can integrate almost any video from these sites and save much space on your server.

I personally prefer to host my files in the cloud, it makes me much easier job. In addition to saving space and my bandwidth also makes things much easier when you want to move your site to another server.

Hosting “files in the cloud.” Now that’s the first time I’ve heard that expression. What does it mean?
