Mezzo is my seventh and latest Wordpress theme, it’s a 3 column, widget ready theme.One of the benefits for bloggers is that this theme comes Adsense ready on the second sidebar (250×250 px adsense size), all you have to do is insert your adsense ID.
You can change the ID in the optional_sidebar.php or you can use some other ads/buttons etc instead of adsense and utilise the other (160×600px adsense size) sidebar for adsense purposes.
Theme Requirement
This theme require the following plugins in order to perform at it’s best, the theme WILL work without the plugins but i recomend that you use the plugins below.
This theme has been made free (sponsored) by Texas Driver Education and we request that the two links in the footer remain intact.

Great! Thanks Moses. One other thing I notice with this themes is that when someone does not have an avatar specified in the comments the “My Avatars 0.2″ placement text hangs out over the left side of the comment box.
Also, does this theme make any changes to the wordpress db when installing?
Keep up the great work! Love your themes.
May 22nd, 2007 at 4:05 pm
Hi Steve, thanks for the comments, nope the theme does not make any changes to the wordpress db.
May 22nd, 2007 at 9:51 pm
Thanks again Moses. One question, the title of my blog is longer than the text in the logo you provided. How can I make the logo area larger so that it fits in the header? Do I need the header .psd also?

Hi,
Thanks for this great template! Is there a possibility to explain step by step how to make both sidebars to “widget-sidebars” I can use seperately? That would help me a lot!
Thank you very much in advance
May 23rd, 2007 at 8:14 am
I agree, great looking theme, but it would be better if it had both sidebars widget ready.
May 23rd, 2007 at 10:26 pm
I would love to see the two sidebars widget ready as well (still a very cool theme^^)
May 25th, 2007 at 3:22 am
Great theme Moses! Thanks for taking the time to put this together.
I have a small issue where I have an image in the post and can only get the first paragraph to wrap around the image. I also noticed you seem to have the same issue.
Here is where I’m playing with the theme.
http://www.horsesall.com/index.php
Do you or anyone else using theme have a solution for this small issue?
thanks

Hi -=LaCabra=-, thnaks for the comments.
“I have a small issue where I have an image in the post and can only get the first paragraph to wrap around the image.”
Hmmm..i’m not too sure about how to solve this, i will try to get the answer for u soon.
Thanks
May 25th, 2007 at 3:29 am
Hey Moses …
I managed to get it to wrap. I went to the stylesheet.
Found:
.post_content p {
clear: both;
margin-bottom: 10px;
margin-top: 0px;
and removed … clear:both;
Will this have any adverse effects on anything else that I should be aware of?
Thanks in advance

Please help me with the theme. I can’t put images in align right, just in left. Also i can’t put paragraphs because if i put a paragraph next to a image, just the first is displayed, the rest are under the img.
http://www.zmemusic.com so you can see for yourselfs
May 30th, 2007 at 11:37 am
Did you download version 2? the problem should be solved, when the theme was created it was meant to align left if you want it align right i’m sure you can do it via CSS.
thanks
May 30th, 2007 at 12:53 pm
downloaded version 2, and uploaded just the styles.css. Same thing. Can you tell me which lines are responsible for the image alignment and paragraph formating, in the Css files. Thanks
May 30th, 2007 at 12:58 pm
is it this ?
.post_content img {
margin-right: 8px;
float: left;
}
—————–
and this ?
.post_content {
float: left;
width: 485px;
padding-top: 12px;
padding-bottom: 12px;
line-height: 20px;
text-align: left;
color: #444444;
font-size: 1.2em;
font-family: Tahoma, “Trebuchet MS”, “Arial Narrow”;
font-weight: normal;
May 30th, 2007 at 1:10 pm
yes, change the “float” to right.
May 30th, 2007 at 1:33 pm
If i do that, i can’t put images in the left… i need to put images in the left and in the right. I don’t want all my posts to have image alignment just to the left or just to the right. Also did any of you experince youtube imbeding problems? i have, the theme goes all shitty if i put a youtube video. Do i have to put it in a tag ?Thanks again
May 30th, 2007 at 6:10 pm
i’ve deleted the
.post_content p {
clear: both;
margin-bottom: 10px;
margin-top: 0px;
}
in css and it now works perfect. You should consider these issues in your future installments of the theme. Thanks again for a wonderful theme!
May 30th, 2007 at 6:22 pm
Hi Sharkyx ,
thanks for the heads up, it really does help me for the future, i appreciate it.
Cheers.
May 30th, 2007 at 7:14 pm
Thème intéressant, je vais sans doute en publier une traduction en français.
May 31st, 2007 at 1:51 am
nice find Sharkyx, that issue also effect the single page google ad placement if have one so yes its better to deleted the code.
just remove the clear:both should cover it since the p tag still need some gap for article post.
as for the image alignment. you should delete this line in css stylesheet:
.post_content img {
margin-right: 8px;
float: left;
}
and put something like this in the css:
and apply your image class as below:
.alignleft {
margin-right: 8px;
float: left;
}
.alignright {
margin-left: 8px;
float: right;
}
.center {
margin-right: 3px;
float: none;
}
not sure if it works wonder tho…maybe you can tested it out..:P
May 31st, 2007 at 3:20 am
.alignleft {
margin-right: 8px;
float: left;
}
.alignright {
margin-left: 8px;
float: right;
}
.center {
margin-right: 3px;
float: none;
}
are standard img alignments in most CSS stylesheets, it should work :), i’m curious too if it will work with the theme :), don’t to test it right now

June 1st, 2007 at 11:06 pm
Actually, it is not “47 responsed to this post” as you put in above these comments. it should be “responded” !.
once you fix it, you can delete this comment.
June 3rd, 2007 at 3:41 am
Thanks Sadish!, btw for people who are using this theme you can edit that “responded” typo via comments.php

Do you have any idea why when I try to add the mybloglog code to my sidebar, it shows up outside of the sidebar to the right?
June 11th, 2007 at 8:13 pm
i have the same issue with quiglag. mybloglog code doesn’t seems to be compatible with the sidebar. any suggestions?
June 12th, 2007 at 1:00 am
I was able to add the mybloglog code to the sidebar just fine. Where in the code are you adding it?
June 12th, 2007 at 2:15 pm
I decided not to use the mybloglog code after all.
But I did notice that it didn’t work for me in the mybloglog widget, or a text or php widget, but when I added it to a text widget that I already had stuff in, it worked. Maybe its not a theme problem.
June 19th, 2007 at 9:42 am
I’m having trouble getting anything to align with the post text. I’ve tried using DIV tags which normally would work but for some reason, something in the CSS is preventing it from working.
On my blog now, my PlugIM box should have the text wrapped around it but it is always aligned above it. I also had this same problem with a Digg box which refused to align properly.
Any thoughts, suggestions??
Thanks!
June 19th, 2007 at 5:49 pm
@jdatwood
i check out your site and yes the IMPlug/Digg should be wrapping with the text..did you follow the above fixed?
it had something to do with the clear both on p tag and the image float left..that’s why any attempt to insert another style just didn’t affected it…try this just like above:
.post_content p {
clear: both; delete this line
margin-bottom: 10px;
margin-top: 0px;
}
and delete the .post_content img since styling image is prefered in most cases (please see above post about the css styling)
@about mybloglog intergration
- did you forget to insert the extra script at the end of the header end tag?
- it should work in most cases.
note: if you insert any type script tag, please remember to wrap it with p tag and it should look something like this:
<p><script>your script content</script></p>
remember to add this line to css..not sure if it already got one..
.widget_sidebar p (
text-align: left;
margin-top: 10px;
padding: 0px;
float: left;
width: 155px;
)
*margin top or bottom will be your choice
that should make sure it stay intact and the height margin of plugin or script related with be optimize or something like that
well that’s how i do it in my site actually
..hope couple of the tips can shade some light to the problems..
June 20th, 2007 at 4:56 am
Awesome… thanks so much!!
Everything is aligned right now

Hey there.
This is a very nice theme. One problem I’m facing is that I installed Mike’s Ajax Comments plugin(http://www.mikesmullin.com/2006/06/05/ajax-comments-20/) and it works fine on the WP default theme but it has no effect when I use it on your theme.
I think it must be with how your theme submits the comments against that of the default WP theme.
Would you know where to tweak the submit function? Hmmm…
June 21st, 2007 at 8:03 pm
Hey moses can you please tell me how to make the optional sidebar ( the second one) width larger ? thanks.
June 22nd, 2007 at 11:04 pm
Sharkyx, in the CSS change the witdh in “.sidebars”, however this might also effect the whole theme width.
June 24th, 2007 at 6:12 pm
If i Make a new .sidebars2 and change the div tag in optional sidebar to that. Will it work ? I’ll try it now.
June 24th, 2007 at 6:19 pm
Can’t get it to work right. Can you guide me step by step on how to enlarge the second sidebars width ? Thanks
June 24th, 2007 at 6:24 pm
NVM, got it to work eventually. Made a new widget_sidebar2, changed the width there and it works now. Thanks again for your theme!
June 26th, 2007 at 6:11 am
Moses, did you know when you view the theme in Firefox the bottom, or better said the bottom of the footer and the bottom of the screen has some room in between.
But when viewed in Internet Explorer the bottom of the footer is directly against the bottom of the screen.
Personally i like it to have a little room as is being displayed in FF, so do you perhaps know how to have it the same in IE?
Thanks!
June 27th, 2007 at 4:11 pm
Hi Jones,
soory for the late reply i didn’t see this till today.
Anywayz. did you download version 2? or the previous version of this theme?.
June 28th, 2007 at 4:38 pm
Morning Moses,
I downloaded the latest release, it’s happening on your current blog as well.
Have a look in IE and you’ll see that the bottom of the footer is directly against the bottom of your screen.
In Firefox you see some room.
Personally i like to see some room though.
Any advice how i can fix this?
Thanks for listening Moses!
June 28th, 2007 at 5:04 pm
Hmmm,,for me it looks like it does have a little room in IE, here’s a screenshot of what i see:
http://www.wpthemesplugin.com/ie.jpg
Anywayz, what is your screen resolution/or how many inches is your screen?
June 28th, 2007 at 6:49 pm
That’s odd, i have a standard monitor from Dell, 1024×768 screen resolution.
I’ll run it through a Broswershots like service when I’m ready with it to see what kind of results are there when viewed in other type of browsers, etc
I have it as of now installd locally on computer, doing some plugin installments and getting familiar with the thing. Customizing it a bit to create a somewhat unique look.
Where you aware by the way there are some spelling errors in your comments file?
If you go through the file you’ll run into them automatically.
When i go live I’ll send you an email once more and to work that thing out i had inquired about?
Have a great evening Moses
It’s evening over there right?

hi, thanks for this great theme. May I ask also how to use this theme with Adsense without violating the TOS of Adsense?
thanks,
July 29th, 2007 at 2:52 am
Thanks blogadeur, well the theme comes ready with adsense code, all you have to do is to add your publisher ID, as for violating the TOS of Adsense i can only refer you to the adsense program itself and you can find out more at the adsense page.
July 29th, 2007 at 3:18 am
I’m not sure what you feel is breaking the TOS of Adsense blogadeur…??
August 16th, 2007 at 6:55 pm

Appreciate all your help.

October 4th, 2007 at 12:28 pm
Hi blogadeur,
Did you edit any type of code in the theme?
How about the “google search” on the sidebar, did you just add that?
October 4th, 2007 at 2:20 pm
Moses, i did not edit any code lately and that google search was there for at least a month now. Just this morning when I post those two entries then it happened.
October 7th, 2007 at 1:53 pm
@blogadeur
edit one of your post

Guys if you don’t mind what other stuff that I can put in my blog to make it look good and in a way make more money? hhehehe
for sure i’d like to put my own header image.
October 15th, 2007 at 3:11 am
I’m wondering if its possible to remove the 3rd column? I don’t use Ad’s on my site and I really don’t need it, so is it possible with a few tweaks?
I’m not much of a script editing genius and so forth… ^_^
October 16th, 2007 at 2:42 pm

Great theme. I use it for my blog. A pity that subscribe2 plugin doesn’t work in this nice theme.
November 4th, 2007 at 1:08 pm
Amazing theme, thank you very much!
I’d love to make more space for these 2 sidebars. But I don’t know too much about CSS, maybe that’s why :/
I realized .sidebar classes are 160px whidth and when I change this value e.g. 200px it doesn’t work correctly. And still I have enough space for them on the right side… How can I make sidebars wider?
November 11th, 2007 at 3:22 am
This theme really looks great.
December 10th, 2007 at 10:59 pm
Very nice theme.
Recently I upgrade mezzoV2 to mezzoV3, and I noticed the space between left sidebar and right sidebar is too tight, and I found out on optional_sidebar.php there is no so I tried to put it after and voila.. it fixed. Don’t forget to add another to end of file.
I have same question with roberts, how to make sidebar wider ?
I’ve been trying edit the style.css file with no luck so far
December 10th, 2007 at 11:05 pm
Hmm.. sorry the html code didn’t show on my last comment, change the [] sign with

Could you explain me how to proceed please, where to modify in style.css or sidebar.php. thanks
