WordPress has grown to be more than a blogging platform and one of the best ways to prove that is the emerging trend of web developers who are using WordPress and tweaking it to be a powerful CMS (Content Management System) to use in their web projects.
In this new section for this blog i will attempt to feature (not review just point a link to) sites from time to time that are powered by WordPress, you will be suprise how many sites are powered by WordPress that look nothing like what you are used to seeing in WordPress powered sites, these sites look nothing like blogs or your average cookie cutter themed site, these sites have been tweak be it from a design point of view of from messing with the codes so that it looks and feel like a professional site.
So this is the first post of many to come where i will feature such sites, and to kick things off we’ll start with Free Shipping, a site that features stores with free shipping coupons, free shipping & handling & department stores with free shipping codes.I have been in touch with the owner of the site, his name is Luke Knowles as he also runs the popular Virtual Marketing Blog.
FreeShipping.org is still pretty new but it looks like a site that oozes potential to grow, i mean who doesn’t want codes to receive free shipping from stores like Amazon, BustedTees,Cooking.com,eBags,The Home Depot and more?
Of course the latest versions of WordPress allows you to have your blog on a page instead on the frontpage, this was implemented by FreeShipping as they also have a blog on their navigation, basically the blog is used to feature “Deals Of The Day”.
From your first view of the site, would you have guess that is was powered by WordPress?

The link to the Virtual Marketing Blog doesn’t work. I think you have a /i at the end of the link.

Wordpress community is doing a great job, with several plugins / enhancements, often for free. Perhaps what you found is such a thing. Blogging is generally considered a money making opp on the internet, so no one wants to reveal their secrets for free, it seems ;-). I am searching a good videos about building wordpress sites.

In my opinion Wordpress is the best website platform currently on the internet. With all the themes and plugins you can do virtually anything with your site. The best part it can all be done for free.
