Making money with your blog just got a little easier especially if your blog is running on Wordpress thanks to a great plugin called WP Text Ads.
WP Text Ads does what TLA does for you except that you get to keep 100% of the money earned because you will be selling your ads directly to advertisers with no middleman involved.
What’s interesting about this plugin is that you will not only be able to sell text links on your homepage (or sitewide on your sidebar) but you will also be able to sell ads on individual posts and all pages.
Here’s a scenario of how this plugin will benefit you:
Scenario
Advertiser A buys a text link at your blog through Company T for $100. Company T takes a 30% commission. You are paid $70 after 30 days or later.
With WP Text Ads, you lower the price to $80 and Advertiser A buys it directly from you. This time, you earn $80 immediately and Advertiser A saves $20.
This all sounds nice and dandy but if you own a new blog or one that isn’t really getting much traffic i would suggest you just stick with TLA, TLA is great because it’s a marketplace where advertisers do their search for advertising while WP Text Ads is a great plugin it will only really benefit you if your blog is a fairly high traffic and well known like John Chow.
Did i mentioned that the plugin isn’t free? it costs $127 per license, you know what they say, you got to spend money to make money but there’s a good reason for buying the plugin because there’s a tremendous 180 days money back guarantee

Sounds good. But $127 is kinda expensive.

It does seem that $127 is too expensive, but to some people it’s just small change, plus there’s a 180 days money back guarantee.

Hi,
I’m the developer of WP Text Ads.
Thanks for writing about it.
The Free Edition will let you sell quite a number of links already. This link explains how - http://www.wptextads.com/faq#q15
While $127 might appear a lot in comparison with TLA’s $0, do remember that TLA takes 50% in commission.
How much does a link sell on your blog? $20? In that case, 7 links and you’ve paid for the cost of WP Text Ads. And WP Text Ads gives the advertiser more options since he can buy ads at the post-level, blog-wide or home-page only.
Do give the Free edition a try, and worry about the cost later
Btw, the Marketplace has been launched with version 1.1 of WP Text Ads. This helps to connect advertisers with bloggers, so let’s hope they gain more visibility this way
Thanks,
Alex
