Whether you blog for a living, or because you believe you have something worthy to say, it is worth baring in mind that by the best way to increase revenue from your blog, or just bring your message to a wider audience, is to drive traffic to it. The following tips to attract traffic to your Wordpress blog, should help you to achieve your objectives, whatever they maybe, when it comes to your blog.
Try and write blogs that are interesting, and relevant. Unless you have a gimmick or have managed to find a niche market, you will need quality content, that reaches out to your readership.
A good layout is on that makes the blogs easy to read, not too ad ridden, and has good navigation. Though it is the quality of your blogs that will determine long term readership, the layout provides the environment for your reader, so the better the layout, the better the environment.
Always try and link to other websites. This not only improves your rankings on Google, but also other bloggers tend to return the favour, and send the links back your way.
Try and comment on other blogs, but ensure that you have a genuine comment, and not a throw away one that can be dismissed as spam. By interacting with other bloggers, you will find that these guys become part of your readership.
Keep updating the blog regularly. If you only update every month or so, the blog will probably perish.
Try and write blogs that have some level of interaction. If you ask a question at the end of a blog that can set people thinking, the better. Everyone has opinions, and the more that are shared on your blog, the better.
Try and implement search engine optimisation into your blog. Most of your traffic will come from Google, and so the higher on the page rankings the better.
Try adding a signature to your outgoing emails. This a good way to advertise your blog. Many big brands utilise this all the time.
Use RSS links for the convince of your readership. This is becoming increasingly popular, and many readers now use this to read your blogs. The only downside with RSS, is that it does not show the ads on your site. This can be negotiated though, by posting topics that pose questions.
It is worth listing your site on blog portals. These sites offer you the chance to reach more people with your words of wisdom and products. Some even breakdown the blogs by topic. Eaton web, and Globe of blogs, are good ones to look at.
Some websites have search engines that are blog specific. Technocrati, Blogdex, Popdex, and Daypop, allow users to search by keyword or subject matter, and then this pulls all registered blogs through to the user. Wouldn’t it be good if one of these was yours.
Another tip to attract traffic to your Wordpress blog, is to start a newsletter. If you add a free weekly newsletter for your email subscribers, then you are inviting potentially hundreds of people to visit your blog.
It is always a good idea to get involved with forums and discussions, as this raises the profile of your blog, especially if you can leave your URL in the process.
Add an option to email this blog to a friend, it’s a useful trick to spread the word.
We hope these tips to attract traffic to your Wordpress blog help you in building a solid readership. It is worth remembering that to build a following on a blog, takes time and patience. If you follow these tips, and you are prepared to make the effort, then it will yield its own rewards.

Google adsense can now be integrated into your feed. So you can still make money on it.
On the other hand RSS feed syndication is a murky subject. I’d prefer someone to quote me with proper credit than somone turning my RSS feed into a post on their website, even with proper credit/linkbaks
