It’s shockingly amazing how time has flyed by and 2007 is coming to a close, throughout this year there were many great looking WordPress Themes designed for the community, there was also a sharp increase in “Premium Themes” with the likes of Brian Gardner, Adrian Pienaar, Small Potato and more leading the way.
Here’s a list of 20 themes that i think have turned heads and got peoples attention this year, themes that are designed well and are well supported by their authors.Premium Themes (paid) are ommited from this list as i think it’s a little unfair to pit them against free themes, however i do have a list of premium themes coming up on my next post.
WP Premium (free not paid theme)

R Bhavesh has released a beautiful theme, he is the author of the WP Remix Premium Theme, but this time aound he is releasing the “WP Premium” for absolutely FREE, the theme comes with 3 color-scheme options – Brown, Black and Soft Red

Hello by HelloWiki
The theme’s page is in chinese so it will be hard to understand everything but this was a theme that should make it to the list, Babel fish or Google Translate should be of help.

Here are something i looked at while creating this list:
- Coded and compliant with standards and works on all majot browsers.
- Support, did the author provide support for the theme? This is not an easy thing but it’s great if the author did provide some support.
- Easy to modify – was the theme easy enough for users to edit and tweak to their hearts content.
- Upgrades - when the year began WordPress was in version 2.1, did the authors provide upgrade to the latest version 2.3?, that was my question.
- Special features – domtabs and other misc thing that made the theme special

WPdesigner or Small Potato as you might know him is one of my favourite designers, his themes are always neat and properly organized, trust me when i say it’s frustrating to even begin editing a theme when the php theme files are poorly organized, but that’s not the case with this Gluttony theme, the current latest theme release by Small Potato
