**UPDATE: WPthemesFree has REMOVED my theme from their site.

This kinda spoiled my day a little when i discovered that another Wordpress theme viewer site was offering my 3cWPTP theme for download,but there was a catch, bloggers that download my theme from WPthemesfree.com had an extra link in the footer and the link was pointing back to WPthemesfree.com with the title “Brought by Free Wordpress Themes”.
It’s just too bad to see this happening because of the time spent designing and coding the theme, plus it’s also bad for Internet Marketing Center who had sponsored my theme, it seems that WPthemesfree.com is gaining massive backlinks with this method and they have never ask my permission to add their link on my theme.
I hope Wordpress theme developers will take notice of this as they are doing this with all the themes on their site.
I have emailed them and have politely ask them to remove my theme from their site.

Send those bastards an email, threaten them with lawsuit. I am sure it’s some 13 yr kid maintaining that site.

Give them the fist if they need it. Its also worth adding a stricter copyright notice that the theme can only be downloaded from this site?

there days ago..sheez i don’t think they mention something about this in their site
man..plus i feature their site when i found out about their site and didn’t even notice about the added extra backlink to their site (just check technorate)…thanks for the catch moses

Yeah, i understand they are not making any money with adsense and such..but that still doesn’t mean that they should place a link in the footer and most probably the reason for building backlinks is to gain high PR and sell text links anywayz.
And to top it all i didn’t even upload my theme there it was uploaded by them, i have no hard feeling towards them it’s just that i need to respect my sponsor as well.

The link you have provided is not working?
Are they deleting author links? If not, who cares your theme sponsors will be happy for more impressions.
How many themes you have made till now? and how many backlinks you have acquired? Probably not a good ratio. I am just trying to say people are already deleting even the author/creators links. That’s why I am not making any more themes till mid 2006.
